Determining when stock is available: Checkout and Cart Settings.

Keeping track of stock in carts and during checkout is tricky business and if you are one of the lucky ones who sell high demand products or one-of-a-kind items. Congratulations! At IndieMade we do our best to ensure your products do not over sell.

You can find several settings on the Store Settings page and locate the Checkout and Cart settings for the following options:

Checkout hold time: The amount of time we hold or reserver an item's stock during checkout. Once the visitor clicks the Checkout button on the Cart page this clock starts ticking. This will give the visitor enough time to enter in their order information and find, credit card or remember their PayPal login. After this time has expired it will become available to another visitor.

Reserve products when added to cart: If checked this will reserve stock when a visitor adds an item to their cart for the specified number of minutes.

Sold Products

You have a few choices on how to display or not display sold out items. On the store settings page you can find the sold products settings.

Show as "Out of Stock": An out of stock label will be added to the product page and the Add to cart button is removed.

Do not show: The product will be completely removed from your site.

Move to sold page: The product will be moved to the sold page. If checked the sold page should appear on your main menu settings (it might be disabled) but you can always find it on the path '/sold' here is an example of the sold page here: https://themesilky.indiemade.com/sold. The sold page simply displays products that have 'Track Stock' and a quantity of zero.

You can optionally hide prices on the sold page by checking 'Do not show prices on sold items'
