Setting Up Stripe on IndieMade

Stripe is a straightforward option for accepting payments. You'll mainly need a Publishable Key and a Secret Key.

How to Locate Your Stripe API Keys

Your API keys are your secure credentials with Stripe. They're easy to find in your Stripe Dashboard.

  • Log in to your Stripe account.
  • Find and click the 'Developers' link in the upper right corner.
  • On the Developers page click on the 'API keys' tab (Second tab next to Overview)

 

Entering Your Stripe Keys on IndieMade

Now, let's get those keys set up in IndieMade:

  1. Go to your IndieMade Dashboard.
  2. Click the gear-shaped 'Settings' icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Select 'Payment Providers' from the dropdown menu.
  4. On the Payment Providers page click 'Add Payment Provider'.
  5. Click on Stripe's logo from the list of available payment providers.
  6. Enter your 'Publishable Key' and 'Secret Key' in the respective fields.

Optional: Customizing the Decline Message

If you'd like to personalize the message customers see when a card is declined, you can do so here. A placeholder message is already in place, so this step is optional.
