Mother of Invention Simplifies the Business of Art
Jennifer Rapp Peterson is an expert on building creative business websites. As an artist and inventor, she built many websites for her own ventures before launching IndieMade to do it better.
Software Consultant Turned Artist Entrepreneur
Once a software consultant, Peterson turned full time artist when she created her own line of cartoons Teetersaw Tales™ which were later represented by Tribune Media Group. She went on to illustrate several books through Chronicle and Sterling Publishing and produce several successful greeting card lines and fashionable stationery through her company, Pulp Couture®.
After selling Pulp Couture in 2006, she designed several lines of handmade toys. Her first commercially available plush toy line, The Food Chain Friends®, earned multiple awards including Family Fun's Toy of the Year, Creative Child's Preferred Choice Award, Museum Tour's Product of the Year, and a National Parent Publication Association Award.
Besides being sold in thousands of stores worldwide, Peterson’s work has been featured in a wide variety of news outlets including: “Regis and Kelly Live,” Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, Glamour, Parent Magazine, Mothering, and Family Fun. Her inventions have gotten rave reviews on blogs such as Gizmodo, Urban Baby, Daily Candy, Gearfuse, Tech Blips, This Next, and Neatorama.
From Toys to Tech Invention
“Having a professional website for every business I have owned has been instrumental to its success. Websites open doors. When I started my first business, getting a quality website was a painful and expensive process.
I searched for an integrated website platform to streamline my company’s sales and marketing efforts, but never found one. I started IndieMade to handle the specific needs of creative companies like mine.” says Peterson.
Since its launch in 2009, IndieMade established a reputation among artists and designers for their powerful easy-to-use websites. IndieMade customers can easily create unique websites in minutes– each equipped with an online store, portfolio, blog and marketing tools. IndieMade also includes software upgrades, support, secure hosting and maintenance with every package.
IndieMade website plans start at $12.95 a month.
